What’s a Skylight?

skylight

A skylight is a window set into the roof or ceiling of a building, designed to bring natural light into a space. Traditionally, skylights have been used to brighten interior spaces, allowing sunlight to flood in from above, creating a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors. They’ve been valued for their ability to transform rooms, making them feel larger and more inviting while providing a source of daylight that helps reduce the need for artificial lighting.

In modern times, artificial skylights have become an innovative solution for those who want to replicate the benefits of natural daylight indoors, even in spaces where traditional skylights might not be feasible. Our LED-powered artificial skylights with Rayleigh glass mimic the effect of the sky, flooding rooms with soft, ambient light, offering a versatile and energy-efficient option for any home or space.

How Our Skylights Work

Our artificial skylights are designed to mimic the natural lighting effects of a traditional skylight, but with the added convenience of LED-powered technology. At the heart of each skylight is Rayleigh glass, which replicates the appearance of the blue sky, creating a soft, ambient glow that fills the room.

The skylights are powered by energy-efficient LEDs, which are integrated to flood out of the skylight at an angle. Using smart technology, you can control the brightness and color temperature of the light, allowing you to recreate natural light events such as sunrises, sunsets, and midday sun at the touch of a button. This gives you complete flexibility to adjust the lighting to suit your mood or time of day.

The skylight panels are designed to be installed on the ceiling, where they create the illusion of a window to the sky. Light floods out at an angle – ideally towards a wall or shelf – allowing for the reflected light to provide even ambient illumination without glare.

The Skylight Advantage

Open Up Your Space

Artificial skylights create the illusion of a larger, more open space by filling rooms with light, even in areas without windows. The soft, blue sky “window” makes rooms feel less enclosed and more expansive, enhancing the overall flow and feel of your home.

Simulate Natural Light

Our smart skylights offer the ability to simulate natural light events, like sunrises and sunsets, at the touch of a button. You can set the skylights to gradually brighten in the morning or dim in the evening, creating a more natural and soothing rhythm to your day.

Bright, Without the Glare

Skylights must be planned for and placed to achieve the best effect. In the right position, skylights can flood a room with ambient light – all without the glare associated with other types of artificial lighting.
